Time zone: Edinburgh
Reminder: 2 days before
Ends: 07:30pm (duration is about 1 hour)

This week’s Virtual Trail for The New Town Hash House Harriers, Virtual Trail No 2, will be entirely by Zoom. Log on to Zoom at 18:30 for a trail that can be done completely in your home via Zoom with 4/5 challenges. Although last week Inspector Gorse proved he can do it while running! (very challenging). Afterwards there will be a Circle.

You may save time by installing Zoom on your device in advance using this link, but that is not strictly necessary. You can join us an a mobile or a computer, but obviously in order to participate fully whatever device you use should incorporate audio-visual input and output, i.e. a microphone and camera.

The Hare this week is Kermit & Run2Eat, and 3/4 pint is R.A.

This is how it will go on going forward:

• Someone volunteers to be Hare for the week, as we do already (I will do a tip for Virtual Hares list for those who need it and or want it).
After you have been on a few TNTH3vTs you will get the idea.
• Run2Eat will do a reoccurring meeting on Zoom, it won’t be password protected unless we get non hashers in.
Start time will ALWAYS be 18:30 like a regular hash.
• The hare for the week will set “checks” during the trail, 4-5, that the WHOLE pack can participate in at home.
• After all our “checks” are done we will have a Circle as there is sure to be lots of stories to tell as you’re all on camera.
(Circles will be at different times each trail. Like a regular hash it depends on the trail set by the Hare.)
• An RA for the next week will be nominated at the end of the circle as usual and a reminder of next week’s Hare.

Below are few points of Zoom protocol for during the circle for those not familiar with the concept:

• Keep your microphone muted until you wish to speak, otherwise the call will be drowned out by a mush of background noise.
(Note the admin has the ability to mute all participants if things get too rowdy!)
• If an RA is in evidence, please wait until you are called on to respond before unmuting your mic.
• If you wish to attract the RA’s attention use the ‘raise hand’ button in Zoom to indicate that you want to speak or by placing your glass on your head in the Circle
• If you wish to make a particular point of order to the RA, use the chat feature in Zoom.
• Seek permission from the RA or Session Administrator before sharing your screen with the group, e.g. to show us all some witty coronavirus meme.
